Drop
Safety & Location Policy
Meeting people in real life means safety can't be an afterthought. Here's exactly how Drop handles location, moderation and your protection.
Last updated June 2026
Location is always your choice
Drop never broadcasts your location by default. It is only used when you turn on Public Nearby for a specific Drop, and only at the precision needed to surface nearby plans. Turn it off and you disappear from discovery.
Control who sees you
You choose who can view your profile, who can find your plans, and who can send you requests. You can keep Drops to all friends, a hand-picked few, or open them publicly — it's always your call.
Report and block, any time
Every user and piece of content can be reported in a couple of taps, and you can block anyone instantly. Our team reviews reports and takes action — including removing content and accounts.
Active moderation
We combine community reporting with proactive moderation to find and remove harmful content and behaviour. Safeguarding is a core part of how Drop is built, not a bolt-on.
Online Safety Act
We design Drop with the duties of the UK Online Safety Act in mind — including risk assessment, protecting users from illegal and harmful content, and giving people clear tools to stay in control. As guidance evolves, so will we.
Meeting safely
When you meet people from a plan: choose public places, tell a friend where you're going, trust your instincts, and leave if something feels wrong. Your safety always comes first.
